You absolutely must wake up at 6:00 AM and visit the Negombo Fish Market Lellama. It is an incredible chaotic sensory overload where you can watch massive tuna and sharks being auctioned directly off the boats.

After the market hire a boat to take you through the Hamilton Canal which was built by the Dutch. It is a highly peaceful ride through the mangroves. In the afternoon visit the spectacular St Marys Church to see its magnificent painted ceiling.
