Best time of year to see Sloth Bears in Wilpattu?
I know leopards are the main draw, but I really want to see a Sloth Bear. Is June a good time for Wilpattu?

June is actually the ABSOLUTE BEST time to see Sloth Bears! During May and June, the Palu trees drop their sweet fruit. The bears go crazy for it and wander out onto the roads in broad daylight to eat the fallen fruit.
We saw two bears eating fruit last week in Wilpattu. It was incredible. Way less crowded than Yala too.

Yes, the "Palu season" is famous here. Just tell your jeep driver you specifically want to look for bears, and they will drive you to the areas with heavy Palu tree concentrations.
