Should I go early morning or during the evening ceremony? I want to see the drumming but want to avoid being crushed by crowds.

The evening puja (around 6:30 PM) is spectacular with the traditional drummers and monks, but it gets incredibly crowded with pilgrims. If you want a peaceful, quiet experience to admire the architecture, go at 6:00 AM. You still catch the morning puja, but the lighting is soft and crowds are minimal.

I went at 6:30 PM. The drumming echoes through the whole courtyard. Yes, it’s a tight squeeze, but the atmosphere of devotion is unforgettable. Worth the crowds.
