I want to bring some local sweets back to my family in the UK. What travels well in a suitcase without spoiling?

Kalu Dodol! It is a dark, sticky, fudge-like sweet made from coconut milk, jaggery, and cashew nuts. It is incredibly rich, lasts for weeks without refrigeration, and travels perfectly. Buy it from a reputable sweet shop like "Bombay Sweet Mahal" or "Sponge".

Thala Guli (Sesame balls). They are small balls of roasted sesame seeds mixed with palm jaggery. Very healthy, naturally vegan, and they don't melt in a hot suitcase.

Kalu Dodol and Kithul Jaggery blocks sound brilliant. Going to hit the supermarket tomorrow!

Kokis is the most iconic (the crispy deep-fried wheel shape), but it shatters into a million pieces if you put it in a checked suitcase. Don't try to fly with it.

Just buy a few blocks of pure Kithul Jaggery from the supermarket. It is an amazing natural sweetener, and my friends back home loved grating it over their oatmeal.
