Best yoga and wellness retreats in Sri Lanka 2026?
Looking for a proper yoga retreat with daily classes, good food, and a peaceful setting. Any recommendations that aren't ridiculously expensive?

Good mid-range options: 'Surya Lanka' near Ahangama, 'Shanthi' in Unawatuna, and 'Saman Villas' wellness programs. For something more serious, 'Island Yoga' in Weligama or retreats in the hills near Ella or Bandarawela. Check recent reviews for the quality of teachers - some places have great marketing but average instruction.

I did a week at a small place near Hiriketiya. Quiet, excellent teacher, and not overpriced. Ask in local Facebook groups for current recommendations.
Many places offer 'yoga' but it's more stretching for tourists. Look for places that have certified teachers and proper schedules. The south coast has the best concentration of good retreats.
