Boat guy cancelled at 5am - weather - do we get the money back or is that the August tax

Paid cash yesterday at the guesthouse for a 6:30 Nilaveli whale boat. Knock on the door at 5:10, trip off, maybe tomorrow. No receipt. High-wave warning was for the south yesterday, we are on the east. Is this a safety thing or a not-enough-people thing. What does a real cancel policy look like this week.

East morning sea can still kick up even when the south has the advisory. A licensed skipper calling it at 5am is the correct call. Money: if you paid the guesthouse, we rebook tomorrow or refund, that is the house rule. If you paid a beach boy with no slip, you are in an argument. Next time pay at the hotel desk, get a note: date, boat name, full refund if captain cancels. Lifejackets on, 100-metre distance from whales is the rule, not a suggestion.

Ours cancelled, ran the next day, we saw blows not a full breach. Four hours. I would not do it with a toddler if the skipper is already nervous.

Weather cancel = reschedule or refund. I slept in is not weather. Viator-style products often allow free cancel 24 hours out - private beach cash does not.

Going back to the guesthouse desk, not the beach boy. Thanks.
