It is incredibly difficult and stressful. You need an import permit from the Department of Animal Production and Health, rabies titer tests, and massive paperwork. Even if you do everything right, the street dog (stray) population here is huge, and territorial fights or tick-borne diseases are a massive risk to foreign pets.

Also, 90% of guesthouses, public buses, and trains will not allow a dog inside. It will make traveling around the country nearly impossible. Please leave your dog safely at home.
