CMB this morning is very low and decreasing - friend landing, still come up for 6:28 PM
This morning FlightStats says CMB delays are very low and decreasing. Last night the last good read was no change and we are not redoing that thread. A friend is landing and wants to come up for 6:28 PM. I think a decreasing delay board is not a reason to put them on a 3am-style start. Still come, or stay in Colombo and we see them Sunday.

Live conditions this morning: VERY LOW and decreasing, broken clouds, 28 C, 9 kt SW, vis 6 mi. That is an airport trend, not a Kandy invitation. A friend who lands this morning can reach Kandy late morning if the road is ordinary - I cannot swear the minute. They arrive into gusts 36-54 then the 2-5pm shower, then 6:28 PM. A tired just-landed driver is the 1,749 problem. Book the Saturday night before they roll.
If they come, they rest first. They do not go straight to the kerb.
Friend landed, napped in Kandy, stood. The ones who came straight were grey at 18:28.
Telling them to rest first or stay in Colombo. Not a straight-to-the-kerb Saturday.

Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
