Colombo Saturday 9pm is 0.7 mm - if we go down after 6:28 PM that is a wet A1
Not the 3am-up overnight 0.2 mm. Not leave-Kandy-Saturday-night for the toss as the Test thread. If we stand 6:28 PM and then roll to Colombo, the new 23:26 Colombo page has 9pm showers 0.7 mm, then 10-11pm 0.2. Partner wants the Saturday-night A1 anyway. I want to sleep in Kandy and go Sunday morning. Wet 21:00 road after a Kumbal, or Sunday daylight.

Colombo Saturday on the 23:26 stamp: 9pm 0.7 mm / 41 percent / 28C / gusts around 32; 10pm 0.2 / 46 percent; 11pm 0.2 / 50 percent. That is a wet windscreen after a long kerb, not a washout. The danger is the driver who stood 6:28 PM. 1,749. Sunday morning is the sane Colombo. I cannot swear 22 Aug 21:00 A1 time. No invented fare.
If you must go, Gopallawa / Old Peradeniya corridor, not leftover Dalada, and the driver has to have not stood the parade with you.
We slept, Sunday A1, fine. The Saturday-night people looked grey in a wet windscreen.
Scam Watch: colombo
Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
