We painted cultural demon masks on our rental tuk-tuk. Will this cause issues when we drive it through the buffer zones of Udawalawe or Yala.

Animals do not care about the art on your tuk-tuk, but you cannot take a three-wheeler INSIDE the actual national parks anyway; only licensed 4x4 safari jeeps are allowed past the ticketing gates. Driving through the public buffer zone highways with painted art is perfectly fine and locals will probably love the Raksha masks.

As long as the rental company approved the paint job (some encourage it for marketing), the police and wildlife officers will not care at all.

If you painted a bright, shiny object on the hood, peacocks in the buffer zone might peck at it thinking it is a rival!

I painted a lotus flower on mine. The locals loved it, but just make sure you are not painting anything politically offensive or religiously insensitive.
