I want to photograph the blue train crossing the bridge in Ella. How accurate is the schedule, and what is the best time for lighting?

The schedule is more of a "suggestion." Trains usually cross around 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 3:30 PM, but they are frequently 30-45 minutes late. Go for the 9:30 AM train. The morning light piercing through the jungle canopy is best for photos, and the midday heat hasn’t peaked yet.

Walk down to the tea cafes perched on the hillside above the bridge. Order a tea and just wait. You can hear the train horn echoing through the valley about 2 minutes before it appears.
