Yes, extreme caution is needed. 500 LKR for vodka is impossible given Sri Lankan liquor taxes. They are refilling bottles with cheap, illicitly brewed local spirits (Kasippu) which can cause severe methanol poisoning. Only buy sealed beers or order local Arrack, which is cheap enough that they rarely fake it.
