A bartender at a jungle party near A-Bay offered us a 500 LKR vodka bucket. Is fake or spiked alcohol a problem here.

Yes, extreme caution is needed. 500 LKR for vodka is impossible given Sri Lankan liquor taxes. They are refilling bottles with cheap, illicitly brewed local spirits (Kasippu) which can cause severe methanol poisoning. Only buy sealed beers or order local Arrack, which is cheap enough that they rarely fake it.

Do not carry glass bottles onto the beach though, that is a separate offense.

Established clubs like Hideaway are perfectly safe. It is the random pop-up DJ tents you have to worry about.

Good to know. We will just buy bottles from the wine store and pre-drink.

Stick to Lion beer. I had a friend end up in the Pottuvil hospital after drinking a "cheap bucket".
