Guy selling last-20-minutes seats on this pavement for cash - legal or the scam police flagged
Procession already went by our bit. A guy with a stack of plastic chairs is unfolding them on the devotee pavement and quoting us in dollars for "the return, last 20 minutes, VIP." Looks exactly like the Instagram gallery minus the QR. DIG yesterday said something about fake guides. Do we sit or walk.

Walk. Central Province DIG Sudath Masinghe said yesterday that seats may not obstruct the pavements reserved for devotees, and that last year people posed as tourist guides and charged foreigners for "seats." A cash chair unfolding at 8.44 on the pavement is that story, not KMC. There is also no second pass on this kerb.
We got this offer on Wednesday. The chairs were in the roadway. Police moved them. Keep your cash in a zipped pocket and keep walking inland.
