We are doing the muddy hike to Dunhinda Falls. What unique regional street food should we look for from the vendors along the trail before heading back for evening drinks.

The path to Dunhinda is famous for its small vendors. You absolutely must try the fresh Belimal (Bael flower) herbal tea served with a piece of jaggery, and the hot, freshly roasted corn on the cob dusted with chili and salt. It is the perfect authentic hiking fuel before you head back to Badulla town for a cold beer.

The hike is very slippery right now due to the afternoon rains. Wear proper shoes, do not do it in flip-flops.

Do not miss the fried lotus root chips if you see a vendor selling them. They are incredibly crunchy and savory.
