I am an intermediate surfer planning to spend ten days in Arugam Bay. Should I rent a board daily or arrange a longer term rental for better value.

Daily surfboard rentals in Arugam Bay typically cost around fifteen hundred rupees per day for a standard shortboard. For longer stays definitely negotiate a weekly rate which usually drops to around eight thousand rupees for the full seven days. Most surf shops happily offer board swaps allowing you to try different shapes and sizes throughout your rental period. Inspect the board carefully for existing dings before walking away and take a photo with the shop owner present. Bring your own surf wax as good quality tropical wax can be hard to find locally. Many surf camps also offer combined accommodation and unlimited board use packages which can be the absolute best value for committed surfers staying long term.
