How to catch a local Cricket match in Colombo?
I am a huge cricket fan. Are there any local league matches or street games I can watch while in Colombo?

On any given Saturday or Sunday evening, just walk down to Galle Face Green or the grounds near Independence Square. There will be dozens of informal "tape-ball" cricket matches happening. Locals will often happily invite you to field or bat if you ask!
If you want to see professional club cricket, check the schedule for matches at the SSC (Sinhalese Sports Club) or NCC grounds. Entry to domestic club matches is usually completely free, and the standard of cricket is incredibly high.
I will definitely head to Galle Face Green this Sunday. Hopefully I can hit a few boundaries!

Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
