How to get to Bomburu Ella waterfall from Ella town.
3 Answers from travellers
Bomburu Ella is the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is located closer to Nuwara Eliya but can be done as a day trip from Ella. The best way is to hire a private taxi or van for the day.
The drive takes about two hours. Once you reach the entrance, it is a moderate 30 minute hike through beautiful, dense jungle to reach the spectacular viewing area at the base of the falls.
If you are on a budget, you can take a bus to Welimada and then catch a local bus towards the falls, but it will take a significant portion of your day in transit.

People outside stations offer to "help" buy tickets but charge large markups. They may buy cheap third-class tickets and sell as more expensive classes.
