My stomach is a bit sensitive. Are the yellow/orange coconuts chopped by vendors on the street sanitary to drink from?

It is the safest thing you can drink! The water is completely sterile inside the thick shell. Mother nature’s perfect packaging. Just ask them not to put a plastic straw in it, and drink straight from the cut hole.

Yes! And when you finish the water, hand it back to the vendor. They will chop it in half and cut a little spoon out of the husk so you can scrape and eat the soft white jelly inside.

I drink 3 of these a day after surfing. Totally safe and life-saving in the heat.

It is actually given to people here when they have an upset stomach or dehydration. It is packed with electrolytes.
