Is Nuwara Eliya worth visiting if I don't care about tea?

I am not interested in tea plantations or colonial history. Does Nuwara Eliya offer enough nature/hiking to justify the cold weather detour?

If you don't like tea or colonial architecture, skip Nuwara Eliya and go straight to Ella or Haputale. Ella has much better hiking (Ella Rock, Little Adam's Peak) and a warmer, more vibrant traveler atmosphere.

The only reason to go to Nuwara Eliya for nature is if you plan to do the Horton Plains / World's End hike, as NE is the closest base town. Otherwise, it is mostly a tea and golf destination.

Haputale sounds exactly like what I am looking for. I will reroute my trip there instead. Thanks!

I agree with Anita. Haputale is the hidden gem. It is perched on a ridge with insane views and incredible hiking through the Lipton Seat area, without the fake "Little England" vibes.
