We are hiking up to the Japanese Peace Pagoda in Rumassala. Afterward, where is the best place to get a massive seafood kottu before hitting the Unawatuna beach parties.

The Peace Pagoda is stunning and so serene. Once you hike back down, head to Pink Elephant or one of the beachfront shacks in Unawatuna for a giant, spicy cuttlefish kottu. For the party, Koha Surf Lounge or Kingfisher usually throw incredible deep house and techno beach raves on the weekends.

Try the cheese seafood kottu! It sounds like a bizarre combination but it is the ultimate pre party comfort food.

The monkeys on the Rumassala hill are notorious. Do not open any snacks until you are safely back on the main road in Unawatuna.

Even though the Pagoda is right next to Jungle Beach, you cannot visit in swimwear. You must cover up respectfully before entering the stupa grounds.
