Not leave-a-bag-if-we-split Test versus 6:28 PM. Not checkout-Saturday-return-Sunday. Not dump bags at Colombo Fort. If we go out at 05:00 - Tooth, or a van - can this desk hold a bag from 5am, or is tonight how we find a dark lobby and a suitcase in the hall. Ask tonight, or assume 5am is a locked door.

Ask tonight in one WhatsApp, not as you wheel out at 05:00 into a dark lobby. A house that went to bed is not a 05:00 concierge. I cannot swear this desk's 05:00 staffing. No invented luggage-hold fee. If they say no, the bag stays in the room and you take a day-pack.
Wootler today: unattended vehicles - an unattended suitcase in a hall is the same lecture in a different shape. Do not leave a bag on a step.
Scam Watch: colombo
Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
