This sounds crazy, but since we are stuck in Colombo traffic for an hour every day, is it safe or practical to practice seated meditation in the back of a moving tuk tuk.

It is incredibly difficult but not impossible. The main issues are the intense diesel fumes from the buses and the constant, jarring use of the brakes. You will not be able to hold a free-seated lotus pose safely because of the sudden stops. If you want to practice mindfulness, try open-eye breathing exercises while holding onto the safety rails. Wear a pollution mask.

The noise pollution is the hardest part. The horns are deafening. Noise-canceling earbuds are mandatory if you want to zone out.

If you close your eyes and let go of the handrail, a quick swerve by the driver will throw you right out the open side of the vehicle. Stay grounded!
