Midigama surf breaks cheap local rotis and sunset DJ sessions
5 Answers from travellers
Baba Roti Shop in Midigama is iconic among surfers. It is incredibly cheap, right across from the break, and they serve massive vegetable and cheese rotis that will easily refill your carbs. For sunset, head slightly down to Surfing Wombats. They have cheap local beers and usually a great live DJ spinning chill house music right as the sun goes down.
Seconding Baba Roti! Their sweet chocolate and banana roti is the best dessert after swallowing a bunch of saltwater.
If Wombats is too crowded, just grab a Lion beer from the corner store and sit on the seawall watching the surfers.
For later in the night, everyone usually moves from Midigama over to Ahangama to hit places like Lamana.
Lazy Left is a reef break, so make sure you are confident before paddling out. It gets crowded right before sunset.
