I am an intermediate surfer. Do I base myself in Midigama or Hiriketiya for a week in February?

Midigama has much better, longer waves for intermediates (Lazy Left, Rams). It is spread out and very chill. Hiriketiya is a tiny, stunning horseshoe bay, but it gets dangerously crowded in the water. Boards flying everywhere. Go to Midigama to surf, Hiri for a day trip.

Hiriketiya is beautiful but it has become the "Tulum of Sri Lanka". Very trendy, lots of laptops and expensive avocado toast. Midigama feels more like a raw surf town.
