I am past the white-water beginner stage and want to surf green waves. Is Midigama all sharp reef, or are there forgiving breaks?

Weligama is a pure sand break, very forgiving but heavily crowded with total beginners and foam boards. Midigama has Lazy Left and Lazy Right. They are reef breaks, but they are deep reefs. As long as you don't dive headfirst into the water when you fall, you will be fine.

Lazy Left in Midigama is perfect for intermediates. It is a slow, peeling wave. Wear reef booties if you are nervous about your feet, but the vibe in the lineup is much better than the chaos of Weligama.

Sounds like Lazy Left is exactly what I need. I'll pack my booties just in case. Cheers!
