Need a police clearance for a visa extension and the system has been dead since yesterday noon
Immigration told us we need a clearance letter. Police e-service has been dead since 12.50pm yesterday. Today they posted a temporary email workaround and said Suhurupaya will still hand out ready ones on Saturday and Sunday. We fly-ish in three weeks. Do we email tonight or sit until ICTA wakes the database up.

Temporary path described today: download the form on police.lk, email it with NIC + passport copies, no payment in this first step, then you must re-submit and pay on the portal when it is back. Ready certificates - if your ref is published on the police site - can be collected 17th floor Suhurupaya, including Sat/Sun. Portal text still lists LKR 5,000 per application when the system is up. Confirm on the page, do not pre-pay a fixer.
I would email tonight so you are in the paper pile, and watch the site daily.
