Not skip-Saturday-as-Ella-dawn-FOMO. Not a 7am transfer that is cruelty after the 4th. We have already decided Ella is the trip. 6.28 is noise. Partner still has the last-Kumbal tab open. I want bags zipped at 11.15, alarm 5.00, van, no bargaining at 4.40. Pack now and leave at 5 regardless, or do we keep a 6.28 escape hatch in the suitcase.

If Ella is the trip, zip it. The hill line is still the Ditwah split - do not invent a 22 Aug Kandy-Ella through train. Van / road is the honest 05:00. People outside stations offer to "help" buy tickets but charge large markups. They may buy cheap third-class tickets and sell as more expensive classes.
