I want to visit Pettah market to see the street vendors but I am worried about tuktuk scams around the railway station

The main scam is the Hello my friend the market is closed for a holiday line. Ignore it. The market is almost always open. Walk directly from the station.

Keep your phone and wallet in your front pocket because Pettah is very crowded and easy for pickpockets.
