We are trekking through the jungle near Dickwella to find a hidden bay. We have to cross a small waterfall runoff. What is the best way to carry a DSLR and a surfboard simultaneously.

Do not rely on standard camera backpacks; the humidity and unexpected slips into streams will ruin your gear. Buy a 20L or 30L heavy-duty PVC dry bag with backpack straps (like an Overboard or Earth Pak). Put your DSLR inside a padded camera insert, then put that inside the dry bag. This leaves both your hands free to carry your board and navigate the slippery jungle rocks safely.

Throw a few silica gel packets into the dry bag. The trapped air gets very humid when you seal it in the jungle heat, and it will fog your lenses otherwise.

If you have a board with a strap or handle, use it. Carrying a board under your arm while trying to scramble over wet rocks is miserable.
