For minor issues, private hospitals and clinics in Colombo, Galle, Kandy, and other main towns are good and fast. Many have English-speaking doctors. Pharmacies (chemist shops) can also help with basic advice and over-the-counter medicines. For stomach issues, most guesthouses know local remedies and can recommend a nearby doctor if needed. Keep travel insurance details handy. Government hospitals provide free emergency care but can be crowded for non-urgent cases.

Guesthouse host + private clinic backup plan. Good to know.

Many hotels have a doctor on call or can arrange a visit quickly. For something simple like a cut or mild fever, a good pharmacy + rest is often enough. Ask your guesthouse host first - they usually know the fastest option nearby.
