Yes! Negombo is 20 minutes from the airport, while Colombo is over an hour. After a long flight, you will want to just fall into bed. Negombo also has a beach vibe to start your trip.

Negombo is great. You can take a boat trip on the lagoon the next morning before heading to Kandy.
