SK Town is a fantastic, punchy beach break with unique black volcanic sand. It is way less crowded than Weligama. Right on the beach, there are a few small local huts where aunties make fresh vegetable and egg rotis. It is raw, authentic, and perfect for a post-surf snack.

The black sand gets blisteringly hot by 11 AM. Bring flip-flops to walk to the water line.

There are two small surf camps right on the sand that rent out decent funboards and shortboards.

Are there any places to rent boards right there, or do we need to bring our own from Mirissa.
