We hired a driver for an 8-day tour. He has been fantastic. What is a standard and respectful tip to give him at the end of the trip?

As a guide myself, a standard good tip for a dedicated multi-day driver is between 2,500 LKR to 4,000 LKR per day, given as a lump sum at the end. If he went above and beyond (arranging great local food, acting as a translator), lean towards the higher end.

We tipped our driver about $10 USD per day. He was thrilled. Make sure to hand it to him directly in an envelope when you say goodbye at the airport.
