We have hired a private driver for a 7-day tour. What is the standard daily tip amount in LKR for a good driver? Do we tip at local restaurants too?

We tipped our safari tracker in Yala 2,500 LKR because he spotted a leopard and was incredibly knowledgeable. For minor hotel porters, 100-200 LKR per bag is standard.

For a dedicated private driver, a standard tip is around 3,000 to 5,000 LKR per day if you are happy with the service. For restaurants, most add a 10% service charge, but leaving an extra 200-500 LKR for the waiter is highly appreciated.
