We are in Colombo. Not driving up tonight as the friends-who-were-watching. Not a Kandy-leaving-at-11 thread. Saturday last Kumbal is 6.28. Partner wants a 3.00 alarm, A1, stand it. I think a 3am start after a Friday is how we join the 1,749. Still worth it from Colombo at 11.10, or do we skip 6.28 and come Sunday 6.44.

3:00 from Colombo can put you in Kandy late morning if the road is ordinary - I cannot swear 22 Aug 03:00 road time, do not invent a minute. Colombo Saturday 12-3am Foreca is light rain 0.1-0.3 mm, still 28°C. You arrive into Kandy's 8-10am gusts 36-50 then the 2-5pm shower column, then 6:28. A tired driver after a Friday is the 1,749 problem. A 6:00 Saturday start is the sane 6:28. A 3:00 start is only sense if the driver has already slept.
If you come, book the Saturday night in the app at listing price before you roll, not a 23:10 WhatsApp villa. Screenshot. No invented van fare. 6:28 is still on. No Saturday cancellation at 11:25.
We left Colombo at 5.30, stood 6.28, human. The 3am version is a story people tell. No invented room rate.

Scam Watch: colombo
Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
