We have two large 20kg suitcases. Can we take them on the local public buses, or will the conductor deny us entry?

You can take them, but you will likely be charged for an extra passenger seat because the bags take up so much room. The buses have a tiny boot in the back, but it is often full. Avoid traveling during rush hour (7 AM or 5 PM) or it will be impossible to get them on.

They usually throw big bags in the front next to the engine block beside the driver. Just keep an eye on them.

If you have large suitcases, spend the extra money and book the AC Intercity buses (the smaller mini-buses). They have a dedicated luggage trunk in the back and are 100x more comfortable.

I will look into the AC mini-buses instead, that sounds much less stressful. Thanks!
