Tangalle and the quiet deep south beaches are they really calmer than Mirissa and Unawatuna and good in June
I want sand without the crowds and I keep reading Tangalle and the deep south coast beyond it are the quieter alternative to busy Mirissa Weligama and Unawatuna Is that true what are the Tangalle beaches and the coves around it like are they calm for swimming or wild surf beaches what is there to do and crucially is the deep south any good in June with the monsoon or should I forget the south coast entirely this month Quiet beach seekers please tell me about Tangalle

Deep south local so the Tangalle picture Quieter than Mirissa YES genuinely Tangalle and the coast around and beyond it are noticeably calmer and less developed than the busy Mirissa Weligama Unawatuna strip to the west it is the quieter deep south long stretches of beach laid back coves boutique and smaller places fewer crowds and a more peaceful vibe exactly the sand without the crowds you want The beaches and coves varied the Tangalle area has both WILD open beaches (beautiful broad sweeps but with STRONG surf and currents not always safe for casual swimming respect the rip threads and the lack of lifeguards) and sheltered COVES and bays (some lovely protected swimming spots a calm cove is the gem) so check each beach some are for lounging and photos and serious surf some coves are gentle swimming pick the protected coves for swimming the broad beaches for walks and sunsets What to do beach time the coves the Mulkirigala rock temple inland (the rock temple threads) the Hummanaya blowhole nearby (the blowhole threads) turtle nesting beaches in the area (the wild turtle threads) a slow quiet base for unwinding it is more about relaxing than a party scene June and the monsoon HERE is the catch the deep south is on the SOUTH coast which is in its WET southwest monsoon season right now (the monsoon threads) so June brings rain and rougher bigger seas to Tangalle the beaches are still beautiful and you get quiet and low prices but expect rain showers and stronger surf and less reliable beach weather for guaranteed June sun and calm sea the EAST coast (Arugam Bay Pasikuda Trincomalee) is the dry season choice this month if you are set on the deep south now go expecting monsoon moods (atmospheric rain quieter cheaper rougher sea) rather than perfect beach days so the answer yes Tangalle and the deep south are the genuinely quieter calmer alternative to the busy beaches with wild beaches and gentle coves but in June the south coast is in its wet monsoon so it is quiet cheap and atmospheric but rainy and rough for guaranteed June beach sun head east instead
Tangalle and the deep south are genuinely quieter with wild beaches and gentle coves but in June it is the wet monsoon so quiet and cheap but rainy with the east coast the dry choice this month this is exactly the honest picture I needed I may head east for now thank you
