Test is 23-27 at SSC and Grand is Thursday 27 6.43 - cricket week in Colombo or back for Grand
If we go for the Test we are looking at five days in Colombo, 23 to 27. Grand Randoli is Thursday 27 at 6.43, same civil date as Nikini, same date as Diya 1.28 in the small hours. Partner thinks we watch cricket all week and skip the actual Grand. I think Thursday is when we should have been in Kandy. Lock it from an 11pm room.

You cannot be in a Colombo Test crowd Thursday evening and also on a Kandy kerb at 18:43 unless you leave SSC early and eat a Thursday road - I cannot swear whether a fifth-day finish even spills into evening. If Grand is the picture you came to Sri Lanka for, do not donate Thursday to a maybe-result. If the series is the trip, stay in Colombo and do not pretend you will pop up.

Driver claims the meter is broken and quotes an inflated flat rate. Common on arrival at airport or railway stations when tourists are tired and disoriented.
Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
