Drivers keep quoting different prices. What is the fair metered rate.

A fair metered rate in Colombo is generally around 100 to 120 Sri Lankan Rupees for the first kilometer and slightly less for subsequent kilometers. You must always insist they turn the meter on before getting in.

To completely avoid negotiating simply use the PickMe or Uber apps which lock in a transparent perfectly fair local price before you enter the vehicle.
