The strict legal drinking age everywhere in Sri Lanka is 21 years old. This law is rigorously enforced at all premium night clubs high end hotel bars and supermarkets in Colombo.

While some tiny relaxed beach shacks in tourist towns might be slightly lenient the bouncers at major city clubs will absolutely demand to see a physical ID at the door. If your son is eighteen he will absolutely be denied entry to the club.
