What time to start Horton Plains / World's End hike?
Staying in Nuwara Eliya. What time do I really need to leave my hotel to beat the clouds at World's End?

You must leave Nuwara Eliya by 5:00 AM at the latest. It takes about an hour to drive up the winding roads to the park entrance. You want to be at the World's End precipice by 8:00 AM before the thick mist rolls in at 9:00 AM.
Got it, 5 AM sharp. And good tip on the plastic bags, I will make sure my snacks are in paper.
Make sure to have your driver arrange a packed breakfast from your hotel the night before. Also, they are very strict about plastic—they will check your bags at the gate and remove labels from water bottles.
We left at 5:30 AM and just barely made it. By 9:15 AM, it was a total whiteout. You literally couldn't see 10 feet in front of you.
