I don't want expensive gems, just nice artisan silver rings and bracelets. Any reputable shops in Kandy city?

Walk down Colombo Street or Peradeniya Road in the city center. There are dozens of small, traditional Muslim and Tamil jewelers who craft pure silver. "Premadasa Jewellers" is very reputable and won't overcharge.

Avoid any shop your tuk-tuk driver insists on taking you to! They get a heavy commission on anything you buy.

Laksala (the government handicraft store) by the lake also sells beautifully crafted traditional Kandyan silver pieces. The prices are fixed, so no haggling needed.

Laksala sounds perfect. I prefer fixed prices anyway.
