Hatch in Colombo Fort is the epicenter of the local startup scene. They have a massive restored colonial building with excellent fiber and multiple event spaces. It is the best place to meet local founders. Another solid choice is Worx in Colombo 7, which offers a more boutique feel and a quiet environment for deep work. Both have industrial grade power backups which are essential for remote work in the city.

Drivers wearing official-looking uniforms claim to be "government-approved" and charge 3-5x normal rates. They may have fake badges or ID cards.
Women with babies approach asking you to buy milk powder at a nearby shop (not cash). The shop is run by accomplices and charges 5-10x normal price.
