I am getting conflicting info online. Do I need the round 3-pin (Type D) or the square 3-pin (Type G - UK style)?

The country is officially transitioning to the UK-style square 3-pin (Type G). All modern hotels use this. Older guesthouses might still have the round Type D. Bring a universal adapter that covers the UK style, and you will be fine 99% of the time.

A cool local trick: if you have a European 2-pin plug and face a UK 3-pin socket, locals often push a pen cap into the top earth hole to open the safety gates, then plug the 2-pin into the bottom slots. But a universal adapter is safer!
