Yala vs Wilpattu vs Udawalawe Safari
If you could only choose ONE national park to visit for a safari in terms of seeing leopards and wild elephants, which one would it be and why?

If traveling during the dry season (August/September), look into Minneriya National park for "The Gathering"—hundreds of wild elephants congregate around the ancient reservoir. It is unforgettable.
If you want leopards, Yala has the highest density, but it gets incredibly congested with jeeps. If you want a peaceful safari with high chances of seeing elephants, Udawalawe is unmatched. For a wild, dense forest landscape with fewer tourists, go to Wilpattu.
I found Udawalawe spectacular. Saw herds of elephants within twenty minutes. Yala felt a bit like a traffic jam when a leopard tracker alerted other jeeps.
