We are taking a boat trip to Vella Island for extreme kitesurfing. What is the best camera setup for a photographer standing on the sandbar while getting blasted by the wind.

Vella Island is pure flat water but the wind regularly hits 25+ knots. The blowing sand will destroy a DSLR lens in minutes. You MUST use a rain cover or a dedicated underwater housing, even if you are standing on dry land. A 70-200mm lens is perfect because the kiters can ride incredibly close to the sandbar.

Do not even try to change lenses on Vella Island. The fine sand will instantly get onto your camera sensor. Pick one lens before you leave the boat.
