If you need to escape the intense tropical humidity, Verse Collective in Dickwella, right next to Hiriketiya, is your premier option. They offer dedicated, heavily air conditioned quiet rooms that are perfectly cool and comfortable for long work sessions.
Many of the smaller, open air cafes directly on the sand rely entirely on ocean breezes and ceiling fans. While scenic, they can become uncomfortably sweaty and sticky for serious laptop work during the midday heat.
Duniye Cafe, located slightly inland from the main beach, also provides a fantastic, highly air conditioned environment with brilliant iced coffees and a very relaxed vibe.
