Instead of the main beach, hike over the western headland towards the Blue Bay Chill Out Lounge. There are elevated, grassy spots along the cliffs there that offer stunning, completely empty views of the ocean.

The viewing platform at the Wewurukannala Viharaya temple also offers an incredibly unique, towering viewpoint over the palm trees and the town from inland.

You can also simply walk across the sandbar to Blue Beach Island during low tide. The peak of this tiny island gives you a beautiful 360 degree panoramic view of the entire coastline.
