The main lagoon is full of kite surfers. Where can we just relax in the water peacefully.

While the main Kalpitiya lagoon is dominated entirely by kite surfers, Alankuda beach located just a few kilometers south is a fantastic, highly secluded alternative. The ocean there is relatively calm during the dry season and perfect for a quiet swim.

Another brilliant option is hiring a boat to take you across the lagoon to the Dutch Bay spit. The ocean facing side of this narrow sandbar offers miles of completely empty, pristine beaches where you can swim and relax far away from the kite surfing traffic.
