The Kadugannawa Tea Factory, located just outside Kandy on the Colombo highway, offers an excellent, highly authentic tour. It is a working factory, so you get to see the real manufacturing process without the massive tour bus crowds.

Another great option is the Geragama Tea Factory. They have knowledgeable guides who explain the grading process perfectly, and they offer a lovely complimentary tea tasting session at the end.
